Q. Will I receive confirmation once my camp registration is received?
A. Yes, you will receive an email with an attached pdf file. The attached file will be
a confirmation letter with all the specifics of the camp. You should bring this
with you to camp check-in.
Q. Is there any kind of background check that is done on the camp staff
coaches before they are hired?
A. Yes. U-M Risk Management requires that all camp staff employees
complete a background check each year. The background check will
examine 1) Michigan criminal history, 2) Michigan sex offenders,
3) National sex offenders. Any check that comes back positive that
staff member will not be hired to work the camp.
Q. Do I need to be present at check-in?
A. As long as your daughter has filled out all the required forms and
paid her balance, you do not have to be present at check-in. At check-in
your daughter will receive her t-shirt and the camp staff will collect any
unpaid balance and/or any outstanding paperwork.
Q. What do the campers do in the event of a thunderstorm?
A. If we need to take shelter during the camp we will either go to
Oosterbaan Field House or the Natatorium/Intramural Building.
Q. What is the typical ratio of coaches to campers?
Last year we had a ratio of one staff coach for every 9 campers.
Q. How should I inform the staff if my daughter has some sort of
medical condition?
A. There will be an athletic trainer on staff at all times. Upon check-in
during the first day of camp, you should inform the trainer about
you daughter's condition, ie. medicine, dosage, allergies, ect.
The trainer will also have a copy of the medical information
provided for camp registration with him/her at all times.
Q. Will there be soccer balls for sale at camp?
A. Yes, you can pre-order them when you register by checking the appropriate box
and adding $25 to you registration fee. Or you can buy the custom Michigan
soccer ball any day during the camp for $25.
Q. What if I need to pick-up my daughter prior to the end of the day?
A. Talk to your daughter's coach on the day that you need to pick her up.
Her coach needs to confirm time and location with you.
Q. If we are carpooling with friends, will other people be allowed to
pick-up our daughter at the end of the day?
A. Yes. Before you drop your daughter off in the morning, be sure she
knows who will be picking them up at the end of the day.
Q. What do I do if my daughter has food allergies?
A. Be sure to note her allergies on the registration form as our trainers
will have this information with them at lunch. Also, make sure you talk to
our trainers at the start of the camp to make them aware of your daughter
and her specific allergy, and how to handle an episode.
Q. What is your refund policy?
A. Your camp fee minus a $50 administration fee, will be refunded if you cancel
two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of camp. At any time after that date, refunds (less the $50 administration fee) will be made for medical reasons only, and must be accompanied by a signed medical statement from your physician. If no request for cancellation is made before camp begins, no refunds will be given. Any refund can only be attained Michigan Girls' Soccer Camp.
